Prescription Voucher Program

Free cash vouchers are available to pay for much needed emergency and/or chronic medications for children whose families are of low income and without prescription coverage. Healthcare professionals at local emergency rooms, pediatric offices, schools and clinics help to distribute our vouchers, which are exchanged for medication(s) at participating K-Mart® and Wal-Mart® pharmacies.

In 2007, the Foundation paid $8,097.69 in prescription vouchers, helping over 100 children.

In 2006, the foundation paid $10,733.00 in prescription vouchers helping 113 children.

In 2005, the foundation paid $6,082.96 in prescription vouchers helping 76 children.

In 2004, the foundation paid $6,000.00 in prescription vouchers helping 150 children.

Challenge Scholarship Program

School success is encouraged by providing college scholarships through the Pasco Pediatric Foundation's Student Scholarship Program. These students are nominated by school teachers and/or guidance counselors. These students have overcome physical, cultural and/or scholastic hardships to become leaders in their community through community service. At least two awards of $1,500 each are given each year.

The Foundation has provided twenty children with scholarships totally over $30,000.

Radiology Voucher Program

Free MRI's CT scans, Ultrasounds and plain X-rays are available to children who reside in Pasco County and who cannot afford to pay for these services. These tests are performed at Radiology Associates®.

Special Request Program

Every attempt is made to fulfill all types of requests for children in need through collaboration with community professionals and agencies including medical equipment, mental health care, dental care and other requests as presented.

In 2007, we modified the electrical wiring of a child’s bedroom, who is dependant on multiple machines for survival, to make it safer for him. The Foundation arranged and paid for eye surgery for a young child. The Foundation also dedicated a new shelter at the J.B. Starkey Wilderness Park in New Port Richey, Florida in March 2008.

In 2005, we purchased a medical tri-sander to allow greater freedom of movement for a physically challenged child. Additionally, we have paid for cataract surgery for a youngster after an injury.

In 2004, we helped provide necessary orthodontic treatment for an eight-year-old boy with severe dental abnormality, enabling correction of the problem and improvement in his self-esteem. We replaced the broken locks that hold his wheelchair in place in his parents' van for a little boy who suffered severe brain injury after being struck by a car.. In addition, we supplied necessary medical supplies for a six-year-old paraplegic boy.

In 2002, we provided a custom designed wheelchair lift for a 17 year old with a physical deformity and oral reconstructive surgery for a 5 year old girl with severe dental malformation.

In 2000, we donated $20,000 to build a playground at Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park specially designed for children with special needs.

Ariel Goldman Holiday Giving Fund

Every year during the holiday season, we provide clothes and a holiday dinner for children and families in need..

In 2006, we also helped over 75 children celebrate the holiday season with gifts, crafts, cookie decorating, a visit with Santa and food provided by Alli-Gators in Port Richey.

In 2005, we gave 70 children from the Pasco School System bicycles, games, and dinner from Honey Baked Ham®. Additionally, we provided gifts and dinners for the Salvation Army Domestic Violence Center.

Our annual "Thanks" For Giving event helps the Pasco Pediatric Foundation build membership and resources so we can continue throughout the year helping less fortunate children in Pasco County.
